Count your reserve.

THE NUMBER IS A START

Count needs.
Then count containers.

CDC recommends at least one US gallon per person per day for three days, and trying for two weeks if possible. Consider additional needs for pets, hot climates, pregnancy, illness and individual care arrangements.

Choose containers people can lift and a safe place to store them. This calculator does not evaluate water quality, treatment, health needs or structural storage loads.
